The Turner Baptist Association is a fellowship of 20 local Baptist churches united in our mission to extend the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that together we can do more for the cause of Christ than we can alone. Through cooperation in evangelism, missions, discipleship, ministry, and benevolence, we seek to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrate His love in local churches, throughout Georgia, and to the ends of the earth.
Our Purpose
Our association exists to:
- Provide a means of cooperation among our member churches in areas of evangelism, missions, education, ministry, and benevolence.
- Promote harmony and fellowship among our churches, encouraging unity in faith and practice as expressed in the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
- Assist churches in developing and maintaining effective programs that enhance spiritual growth for all ages.
- Serve as a channel of service, information, and cooperation with other Baptist associations, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
- Encourage the planting of new churches and missions as God leads.
Our Faith
We hold firmly to the truths of God’s Word, affirming:
- The Bible as God’s inspired and inerrant Word, our sole authority for faith and practice.
- Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
- The church as a body of baptized believers united in Christ and commissioned to make disciples of all nations.
- The sanctity of marriage, family, and human life as designed by God.
Our Work Together
Throughout the year, our churches join hands in:
- Evangelism & Outreach: Block parties, Students on Fire rallies, and community events like the Fire Ant Festival.
- Missions: Local, state, national, and international mission projects and partnerships.
- Discipleship: Training for pastors, leaders, and members to grow in their walk with Christ.
- Fellowship & Support: Pastors’ meetings, associational gatherings, and opportunities for churches to encourage one another.
Our Commitment
While each of our churches is autonomous and Christ alone is the Head of the Church, we believe God has called us to walk together in cooperation. As an association, we exist to help one another in ministry, to advance the gospel, and to shine the light of Jesus Christ in Turner County and beyond.
